In addition to the variety of classes and great food offered at the retreat, the underlying substance that weaves it all together is being in community with one another. Women of all ages who feel a sense of belonging tend to lead happier and healthier lives while creating a more stable and supportive society.

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to relax, connect with others and be in harmony with nature.

Dinner will be served Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday. Snacks (typically fruit and nuts or something salty) are available at all times. The food served is vegetarian. If you feel you need additional protein or snacks, please feel free to bring them with you. We have a refrigerator for participants to use to store items.

Accommodations for participants comprise 25 bunk-style beds in two dormitories. Sleeping two to a bunk, up to 26 participants may stay in Edgar House – a two-story building attached to the kitchen and dining hall. The four-room Krantz House is one story and sleeps up to 24 participants in its 12 bunk beds. Two bathrooms and showers in each dormitory are shared. Please bring sheets, pillow, blanket or sleeping bag, towels and toiletries.

The Margaret Austin Center is a rural retreat center located in the rolling hills outside Chappell Hill, Texas. Originally the vacation home of Margaret Austin, the Center has welcomed retreat groups for over 20 years.

The retreat buildings are near the center of a 40-acre tract that includes a creek and 8 acres of woods you are welcome to hike on your own. Walk the stone labyrinth and relax outdoors on the porch.

Because the center is far from large communities, clear nights offer a spectacular view of the starry skies. One of the gifts offered by the Margaret Austin Center is the chance to reconnect with the earth.
